51 16 ... Removing and Installing/Replacing Guide Rail For Roller Sun Blind Of Left or Right Rear Door

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front chest strip (chrome strip) See 51 42 400 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CHEST STRIP (CHROME STRIP) ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR (WITH ROLLER SUN BLIND)
Disengage roller sun blind See 51 16 ... DISENGAGING AND ENGAGING ROLLER SUN BLIND ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR

Release screws (1).

Carefully release catch (1).

Lever out guide rail (2) at top (A) and pull out in direction of arrow (B).

Installation:

Make sure guide rail (2) engages correctly in catch (1).

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty spacer (1).

IMPORTANT:

Guide rail (2) must not be damaged at the bottom otherwise the carriage will break.

Sliding member (3) must not be damaged.

Installation:

Insert guide rail correctly in brush cable (1) and guide (2).

Installation sequence:

Install guide rail
Engage roller sun blind See 51 16 ... DISENGAGING AND ENGAGING ROLLER SUN BLIND ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR
Fit front chest strip (chrome strip) See 51 42 400 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CHEST STRIP (CHROME STRIP) ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR (WITH ROLLER SUN BLIND)
