33 32 091 Replacing a Guide Arm
To ensure a correct bolt connection, check before installing the guide arm whether the seat for the guide arm matches the seat for the wheel carrier.
Variants:
- M10 journal: Conical seat
- M12 journal: Ball seat
Remove rear wheel . See 36 10 300 REMOVING OR INSTALLING FRONT OR REAR WHEEL
Release nut (1); if necessary, grip at hexagon head.
Remove guide arm from wheel carrier.
Installation:
Keep tapered pin and bore clean and free from oil and grease.
Replace self-locking nut.
Tightening torque 33 32 4AZ . See 33 32 CONTROL ARMS AND STRUTS
Mark position of eccentric screw (4) to rear axle carrier.
Release nut (2) and remove eccentric washer (3).
Remove eccentric screw (4) towards rear.
Remove guide arm downwards.
Installation:
Note insertion direction of eccentric screw (4).
Align eccentric screw (4) by means of marking to rear axle carrier.
Fit eccentric washer (3).
Replace nut (2).
Tightening torque 33 32 5AZ . See 33 32 CONTROL ARMS AND STRUTS
After installation:
