16 11 120 Removing and Installing/Replacing Expansion Tank For Tank Ventilation

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove rear right wheel See 36 10 300 REMOVING OR INSTALLING FRONT OR REAR WHEEL

Observe safety instructions on raising the vehicle . See 00..... LIFTING VEHICLE WITH A LIFTING PLATFORM

Remove rear right wheel arch trim. See 51 71... REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT BOTTOM RIGHT WHEEL ARCH TRIM .

Release hose clamps (1-3) and detach lines from expansion tank:

Installation:

Replace hose clamps.

Tank vent
Tank venting
Scavenging air line

Detach rubber hose (1) from connection (2).

Unfasten hose clip (3).

Detach line (4) from expansion tank.

Installation:

Replace hose clamps.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Lower expansion tank (2) with carbon canister (3).

Installation:

Make sure expansion tank is correctly seated in rubber mounts (4).

Tightening torque 16 13 1AZ . See 16 13 TANK VENTILATION
