Special tools required:
- 13 0 131
- 13 0 132
- 13 0 133
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove intake air manifold. See 11 61 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTAKE AIR MANIFOLD (N73)
Recycling:
Fuel escapes when fuel lines are detached.
Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Remove pressure sensors (1 to 6 and 7 to 12). See 13 53 567 REPLACING FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR (N73)
Remove only one pressure sensor at any one time.
Reinstall pressure sensor after completing work.
Screw in special tool 13 0 132.
Connect special tool 13 0 133 drain tube (1) to special tool 13 0 132.
Disconnect fuel feed line (1).
Connect special tool 13 0 131 to fuel feed line (1).
Drain fuel with compressed air (2) carefully from fuel feed line, cylinders 1 to 6.
Screw in pressure sensors 1 to 6 again.
Follow the same procedure for cylinders 7 to 12.
Release high pressure lines (1 and 6).
Release return lines (3).
