12 51 150 Removing and Installing/Replacing Wiring Harness Section For Fuel Injectors (N73)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Follow instructions for disconnecting and connecting battery  . See 12 00 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY .
• Disconnect battery negative lead from battery and lay to one side.
• Remove acoustic cover.
• Remove right fresh air duct  . See 64 31 056 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT FRESH-AIR DUCT (AUTOMATIC A/C HIGH) .
• Remove center of assembly partition wall  . See 51 71 085 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CENTER OF ASSEMBLY COMPARTMENT BULKHEAD .
• Remove manifold  . See 11 61 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTAKE AIR MANIFOLD (N73) .
• Remove right intake line.
• Remove left intake line.

Release screws (2) on cable strip.

Unlock plugs (1) and disconnect from all HDEV valves.

Remove wiring harness section for injectors (3).

Release screws.

Remove cover from electronics box (1).

Installation:

Installation: 

Insert fixtures (1) of cover in openings (2).

Release screws (1).

Release retaining clip (2).

Remove cover (3).

Installation: 

Install profile seals correctly to ensure watertightness.

Disconnect plug connection (6) on HDEV control unit (cyl. 1 to 6).

Installation: 

Cable colors black.

Disconnect plug connection (5) on HDEV 2 control unit (cyl. 7 to 12).

Installation: 

Cable colors red.

Assemble engine.

Check function of DME.
