Removal & Installation

- Disconnect parking bake Bowden cables from actuating unit. See PARKING BRAKE BOWDEN CABLES .
- Remove screws. See Fig 1. Pull off plug (1). Remove actuating unit with control unit.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Deactivate installation mode status with BMW diagnostic system. Touch parking brake button 3 times at intervals of 5 seconds. Carry out brake test on brake analyzer:
- Drive car with rear axle only onto dynamic brake analyzer.
- Turn engine off.
- Touch parking brake button and ensure uniform increase.
