65 77 740 Removing and Installing (Replacing) Left Front Door Sensor

Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect battery negative lead See 61 20 900 DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD
Remove control unit in left front door See 61 35 220 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) CONTROL UNIT FOR LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Release screws (2) and remove front door sensor (3).

Installation:

Make sure sensor is mounted without play.

Installation:

Check seal (1), replace if necessary.

Make sure seal (1) for front door sensor is correctly seated.

Replacement only:

Carry out coding/programming .
