64 53 551 Removing and Installing or Replacing Condenser For A/C System

IMPORTANT:

Risk of damage!

Restart engine only when A/C system has been correctly filled.

NOTE: If A/C system is opened for more than 24 hours: Replacing drier insert for A/C system See 64 53 515 REPLACING DRIER INSERT FOR A/C SYSTEM (AUTOMATIC A/C BASIC)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Drain off air conditioner See 64 53 517 REPLACING DESICCANT INSERT FOR A/C SYSTEM (AUTOMATIC A/C HIGH)

NOTE: The time value given for this work operation does not include drawing off, evacuating and filling the A/C system!

Release screws and remove center front panel (1).

Release screws on radiator cover (2).

Unclip vent line (1) from fixtures.

Unclip retaining clip (2) and plug (3).

Lay auxiliary cable (4) to one side.

Remove radiator cover.

Unlock catch (1) and disconnect plug connection (2).

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 64 53 1AZ. See 64 53 REFRIGERANT LINES AND EXPANSION VALVE and 64 53 REFRIGERANT LINES AND EXPANSION VALVE

Remove lines (2) in direction of arrow.

Replace all sealing rings and moisten with refrigerant oil.

Pull out condenser (1).

After installation:

Evacuate and fill A/C system See 64 50 009 DRAWING OFF, EVACUATING AND FILLING A/C SYSTEM (R 134A)
