33 32 071 Replacing One Upper Control Arm

IMPORTANT: Observe safety when raising the vehicle.
NOTE: If the control arm is detached from the rear axle carrier, it is necessary after reinstallation to carry out a wheel/chassis alignment check. See 32 00 ... CHASSIS/WHEEL ALIGNMENT CHECK PROCEDURE .

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release nut (1) and remove bolt (2) towards front.

Installation: 

Replace self-locking nut.

Tighten bolt connection in normal position  . See 32 00 ... MOVING VEHICLE INTO NORMAL POSITION .

Tightening torque 33 32 14AZ  . See REAR AXLE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove holders (1) from control arm.

Release nut; if necessary, grip at external hexagon/Torx socket.

Take off control arm.

Installation: 

Keep control arm to wheel carrier connection clean and free from oil and grease.

Replace self-locking nut.

Tightening torque 33 32 8AZ  . See REAR AXLE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
