52 17 023 Removing And Installing/Replacing Adjusting Unit For Thigh Support On Left Or Right Front Seat (M5)

Move front seat into top position.

Unclip cover (1) with special tool 00 9 325 starting at the inside (arrow).

Fold up and unclip cover (1).

Move thigh support (1) as far forward as possible.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unfasten screws (2).

Remove thigh support upward.

Installation note: 

Insert screws (2) with Loctite.

Unclip and remove cover (1) toward the top with special tool 00 9 325 .

Installation note: 

Secure guide pins (2) in seat frame and clip cover (1) into place.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Release screws (1).

Raise adjusting unit (1) complete with electric motor in direction of arrow and feed out downward.

Installation note: 

Adjusting unit (1) must lie flush on facing (2).

Installation note: 

Make sure latch mechanism (1) of adjusting frame is correctly on frame (2) (as illustrated).
