22 31 001 Replacing Rubber Mount For Transmission Mounting

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove underbody protection
Remove complete exhaust system. See EXHAUST SYSTEM - REPAIR (5-SERIES) or EXHAUST SYSTEM - REPAIR (6-SERIES) .
If necessary, remove exhaust system bracket
Support transmission with hydraulic lifter.

If necessary, remove heat shield (1) on left and right.

Release screws (1) and nuts (2) and remove transmission crossmember.

Remove transmission mount from transmission crossmember.

Tighten to specified torque. Transmission cross-member to body M10 thread 42 Nm; M8 thread 19 Nm. Transmission mount to transmission support bracket/transmission cross-member 19 Nm.

Release screws and nut (1).

Remove cross member.

Tighten to specified torque. Transmission cross-member to body M10 thread 42 Nm; M8 thread 19 Nm. Transmission mount to transmission support bracket/transmission cross-member 19 Nm.

Unscrew nut (1).

Exchange rubber mount.

Tighten to specified torque. Transmission mount to transmission support bracket/transmission cross-member 19 Nm.
