21 53 501 Checking/Topping Up Fluid Level In Hydraulic System (GS7S47BG SMG)

Special tools required: 

IMPORTANT:

Before working on hydraulic system:

  • Reduce pressure in hydraulic system by means of Service Functions in DIS Tester (Replacement and Repair) 
  • Disconnect HYDRAULIC PUMP RELAY in electronics box Do not reconnect relay for entire duration of repair work
IMPORTANT: After working on hydraulic system:
  • Perform bleeding using DIS Tester, refer to Service Functions in DIS Tester (Replacement and Repair) 
NOTE:

When working on the transmission (fluid check) while installed, it is absolutely essential to adhere to conditions of absolute cleanliness. 

Failure to comply with this instruction will result in serious damage to the transmission.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque: 21 52 11AZ  . See CLUTCH OPERATION (HYDRAULIC) for specs.

Fill expansion tank with special tool 00 2 080 up to lower edge of filler opening.

Hydraulic fluid for clutch hydraulics.

IMPORTANT:

Use special tool exclusively  for filling hydraulic systems with Pentosin.
