11 51 000 Removing And Installing / Replacing Water Pump (S85)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release screw (1).

Remove idler pulley (2).

Release screws (4).

Remove belt pulley (3).

Release screw (1) of VANOS high-pressure line.

Release banjo bolt (1).

Installation: 

Replace all sealing rings.

Tightening torque 11 36 5AZ. See ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Release screws (2).

Pull bracket (1) with VANOS high-pressure line upwards until coolant pump (3) is freely accessible.

Insert bolts (2) of coolant pump (3).

Screw in bolts (2) uniformly in 1/2 turns.

Remove coolant pump (3) towards front.

Assemble engine.

Vent cooling system and check for leaks.
