Removal & Installation (Rear Door)

Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Remove cover and screw behind inside door handle.
Using Adhesive Wedge (00 9 322), pry out armrest screw covers and remove screws. Using Trim Panel Wedge (00 9 317), start unclipping door trim panel at bottom and work up sides.
Carefully unclip door trim panel from top retainers. Pull door trim panel over door lock button. Disconnect lock release handle cable. Disconnect side air bag module connector. Remove side air bag mounting nuts and holder. See Fig 2 . Fold up lugs of plastic housing and remove side air bag module.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
