Removal & Installation (Front Door)

- Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM. Lower appropriate front door glass completely.
- Using trim tool, pry out and remove footwell light from bottom of front door trim panel. Pry out and remove power window switch assembly. Remove inside door handle trim panel retaining screw. Remove door lock button cap. Release button lock and pull button upward to remove.
- Using trim tool, unclip door trim panel. Pull door trim panel upward, out of door clip and slide inside door handle through trim panel. Disconnect side air bag module electrical connector. Remove and discard side air bag mounting screws.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Replace any broken clips. Use NEW micro-encapsulated mounting screws. Tighten side air bag module mounting screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
