41 31 010 Outer Roof Skin Replacement (Version With Slide/Tilt Sunroof)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove and install headliner  . See 51 44 011 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING HEADLINER (WITH SLIDE / TILT SUNROOF) .
• Remove and install windshield  . See 51 31 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING WINDSCREEN .
• Remove and install rear window  . See 51 31 200 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR WINDOW .
• Remove and install sliding sunroof  . See 54 12 211 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COMPLETE GLASS SLIDE/TILT SUNROOF (FRAME) .

Following new body parts are required:

• Roof outer skin, slide/tilt sunroof

Open weld joints in areas (1).

Release adhesive areas  (layout, see next operation) and remove roof outer skin.

Installation: 

Fit new part on body. Fit windshield for positioning.

Seal weld seams with sealing compound.

Apply sealing compound in areas (1).

Apply adhesive  along line (2).

Installation: 

Gap in area (2) may be max. 3 mm.
