51 24 145 Removing and installing/replacing button for rear lid actuation

Special tools required: 

• 00 9 323  . See MAINTENANCE AND GENERAL INFORMATION - SPECIAL TOOLS .

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove panel for rear lid.  . 

If necessary, disconnect plug connection in rear lid.

Move special tool 00 9 323  under front edge of button (1) and lever out button (1).

Pull button (1) out of rear lid (2).

Pull off clip (1) and remove microswitch (2). Pull off seal (3).

Installation: 

Seal (3) must be undamaged and button must be correctly snapped into place.

Perform function check with trunk lid open.
