1353315 Removing and installing/replacing all injectors of fuel injection system (M57T2)

Necessary preliminary tasks 

IMPORTANT: It is essential to adhere to conditions of absolute cleanliness when working on the fuel system.
  • Do not allow any dirt particles or foreign bodies to get into the system
  • Use only fluff-free cloths
  • Remove all traces of dirt before removing pipes or individual components
  • Seal all fuel system openings with protective caps
NOTE: Following description applies to all injectors:
Unlock plug (1) and remove.
Unscrew nuts.
Remove injector (2).

Installation: 

Tightening torque 13 53 4AZ .

Installation: 

Replace sealing rings (1 and 2).

Replace gasket (3).

Apply a light coating of highly temperature-resistant grease to injector stem.

(BMW part number 83 23 0 441 070)

IMPORTANT: Danger of breakage of pressure line on injector! Observe tightening torque without fail.
Tightening torque 13 53 1AZ .
  1. Hand-tighten all union nuts on pressure lines.
  2. Tighten down union nuts on injectors and on pressure accumulator to specified torque.
  3. Inspect all components of Common Rail System for leaks.
NOTE: In the case of piezo injectors, the seven-digit adjustment value must be stored in the control unit after an injector has been replaced.

Read off adjustment value (1) on new injector (2).

NOTE: If injectors have been replaced, "Injector map adjustment" must be carried out:
  1. Connect DIS Tester
  2. Identify car
  3. Select "Function selection"
  4. Select "Service functions"
  5. Select "Digital Diesel Electronics (DDE)"
  6. Select "Injector adjustment"
  7. Select "Test schedule"
  8. Start Service functions with right arrow key.
NOTE: Now clear the fault memory.
