51 11 156 Removing And Installing/Replacing Front Bumper Trim
Special Tools Required
Release screws (1) on bumper trim (2).
Tightening torque, see 51 11 1AZ in 51 11 FRONT BUMPER .
Lift bumper trim (2) over guide (3).
If necessary, release seal (4) on bumper trim (2).
Release screws (1) on wheel arch trim (2) on left/right.
Lift out wheel arch trim (2) at side.
Installation:
Make sure wheel arch trim (2) is in correct position.
Release screws (1) on bumper trim (2).
Risk of damage!
Do not damage bumper trim when pulling off.
Slide special tool 00 9 317 between bumper trim (1) and bracket (2).
Release catches in area (3) and lever out bumper trim (1) in outward direction.
Pull bumper trim (1) forwards a little.
If necessary, disconnect plug connections on ultrasonic sensors and/or front fog lamps.
If necessary, unlock and detach hose for headlight cleaning system.
Remove bumper trim (1) towards front with aid of a 2nd person.
Installation:
Catches (2) of bumper trim (1) must not be damaged.
If necessary, carry out height adjustment, refer to 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS
Replacement:
- Modify middle front radiator grille .
- Modify trim grille in bumper trim .
- Modify trim grille in bumper trim on left/right .
- Modify towing eye cover
Depending on version:
- Modify number/license plate
- Modify baseplate for number/license plate .
- Modify spray nozzles
- Modify fog lamps . See LIGHTS - REPAIR (128i) or LIGHTS - REPAIR (135i) .
- Modify ultrasonic converter
