61 21 010 Removing And Installing (Replacing) Battery (From 03/2007)

WARNING:

Observe safety instructions for handling vehicle battery.

Observe notes on power supply /on intelligent battery sensor (IBS ).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

IMPORTANT: Do not under any circumstances pull/lever safety battery terminal off by force.

Detach vent (1) in direction of arrow.

Open cover (2) and slacken nut underneath.

Tightening torque, see 61 21 1AZ in 61 21 BATTERY WITH TERMINAL .

Detach safety battery terminal (3) towards top, lay to one side and secure.

Release threaded pin (4) and remove with holder.

Remove battery towards right side.

Installation:

Make sure battery is correctly seated in associated fixture.
