17 00 515 Radiator function check

Special tools required:

13 3 010

See FUEL SYSTEM - SPECIAL TOOLS (N51, N52K) .

WARNING: Scalding hazard!
Only carry out work on the cooling system after the engine has cooled down!

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Switch off ignition
Remove air duct

Check date of manufacture.

Secure special tool 13 3 010 to coolant hose (1).

Carry out function check sing BMW diagnosis test system.

NOTE: Check coolant hose (1) for damage and replace if necessary.

Check function of radiator

Clamp off low-temperature feed line (1) at coolant pump outlet or radiator inlet with special tool 13 3 010 (see arrows).

Check function of heat exchanger

Clamp off low-temperature feed line (1) at coolant pump outlet with special tool 13 3 010 (see arrow). Clamp off low-temperature feed line (2) at oil-coolant heat exchanger with special tool 13 3 010 (see arrow).
