51 47 161 Removing And Installing/Replacing Right Luggage Compartment Wheel Arch Trim: Notes

IMPORTANT: Follow instructions for handling light bulbs (interior lights) . See 63 99... INSTRUCTIONS FOR REPLACING LIGHT BULBS (INTERIOR LIGHTS) .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Release convertible top compartment spring (1) at bottom.

Release expander rivets (2 and 3).

Partially raise partition wall panel (4) and rear window frame panel (5) in covered area.

Remove rear light cover (6).

Lever out interior light (7) and disconnect electrical plug connection.

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty expander rivets (2 and 3).

Unclip emergency release knob (1) in direction of arrow.

Detach Bowden cable (2) from emergency release knob (1).

Release expander rivets (4).

Feed out luggage compartment wheel arch trim (5) in direction of arrow and remove.

NOTE: If necessary, disconnect electrical plug connection from socket (6).

Installation:

Catches (3) on emergency release knob (1) must not be damaged.

If necessary, replace faulty expander rivets (4).
