GSM Antenna

Installation location 

E63, E64:  The antennae are installed under the interior trim of the tailgate. As the tailgate is made of plastic, there is no interference with reception.

E87:  The GSM antenna is integrated into the rod aerial. The rod aerial is also used for FM/AM/telephone and GPS reception. The rod aerial is fitted to the roof of the vehicle.

E60, E61, E90: 

The GSM antenna is integrated into the telephone and GPS aerial. The telephone and GPS aerial is installed on the rear edge of the roof.

Construction 

E60, E61, E90:  The technology of the external aerial is explained below.

The configuration of the European version of the GSM antenna depends on the special equipment installed. The following configurations are used:

• Aerial for telephone only
• Aerial for telephone and GPS aerial (Global Positioning System) for navigation

How it works 

The GSM antenna is a dual-band aerial for mobile phones. The European version of the GSM antenna is configured for the frequency ranges 900/1800 MHz.
