E60, E61, E63, E64, E87, E90: GSM Antenna

Installation location

E63, E64: The aerials are installed under the interior trim of the tailgate. As the tailgate is made of plastic, there is no interference with reception.

E87: The GSM antenna is integrated into the rod aerial. The rod aerial is also used for FM/AM/telephone and GPS reception. The rod aerial is fitted to the roof of the vehicle.

E60, E61, E90:

The GSM antenna is integrated into the telephone and GPS aerial. The telephone and GPS aerial is installed on the rear edge of the roof.

Construction

> E60, E61, E90: The technology of the external aerial is explained below.

The aerial consists of the following individual aerials:

Telephone aerial 1 (GSM)
Telephone aerial 2 (GSM)
A GPS aerial for navigation systems (GPS: Global Positioning System).

Both telephone aerials are set up for the frequencies 900 and 1800 MHz. The individual aerials are grouped together in a single housing (see illustration below).
