12 14 610 Replacing Right Knock Sensors (N62, N62TU)

(cylinder bank 1 to 4)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit
Check stored fault messages
Switch off ignition
Remove intake air manifold . See 11 61 095 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING DISADJUSTMENT UNIT .

IMPORTANT: Mixing up the knock sensor plug connections will result in engine damage!
Routing of wires and plug connections must conform to the original routing. This eliminates the risk of confusion and mix-ups.

Release bolts.

Tightening torque. See ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove knock sensors (1).
