18 00 020 Removing And Installing Complete Exhaust System (N73)

Special Tools Required:

31 2 220

WARNING: Scalding hazard! Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

Support exhaust system with special tool 31 2 220.

NOTE: Weight of exhaust system is approx. 40 kg.

Release flanged nuts on both exhaust manifolds with integrated catalytic converter.

Installation:

Replace self-locking nuts.

Release nuts on transmission.

Unfasten screws.

Remove reinforcement plate.

WARNING: Danger of injury! Removal of the exhaust system must be carried out with the assistance of a second person.

NOTE: Weight of exhaust system is approx. 40 kg.

Release nut.

Detach rubber element from holder.

Release nut.

Remove holder of rear muffler.

Unscrew nuts.

Remove bracket on exhaust tailpipe.

Detach hose from vacuum unit.

Lower exhaust system carefully.

Assemble exhaust system.

Installation:

Check exhaust system for leaks.
