61 31 005 Removing and installing/replacing fixture for steering column stalk

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL
• Remove lower section of steering column trim. See STEERING COLUMN LOWER TRIM SECTION
• Remove top section of steering column casing. See STEERING COLUMN UPPER TRIM SECTION

If necessary, disconnect plug connection (1) at mount for steering column stalk.

If necessary, disconnect plug connection (2) at stalk for steering column adjustment.

Disconnect plug connection (1) on wiper switch.

Disconnect plug connection (2) on turn indicator/dipping switch (1).

Release screws (1).

Remove fixture for steering column stalk (2).

Unlock retainers (1) and pull out switch for windshield wipers (2) towards top.

If necessary, remove switch for steering column adjustment.

Raise lock (1) in direction of arrow and slide stalk for steering column adjustment (2) in direction of arrow.

Unlock retainers (1) and pull outturn indicator/dipping switch (2) towards top.
