P0110; P0112, P0113 

The electrical check detects out of range values by comparing the temperature-dependent voltage of the intake air temperature sensor with an upper and lower calibrated thresholds. A maximum fault TAE is set when the voltage exceeds the upper calibrated threshold for a calibrated period of time. Likewise, a minimum fault TAE will be set when it undershoots the lower calibrated threshold for a calibrated period of time.

An intermittent contact may result in frequent jumps of the measured intake air temperature signal. A signal jump is detected by evaluation of the difference between the measured intake air temperature and the filtered intake air temperature. If this difference exceeds a calibrated value a "jump-detected-timer" with a calibrated time length is started and retriggered every time the difference exceeds again the calibrated value (multiple jumps).

If the overall time of the retriggered and as a result continuously running "jump-detected-timer" exceeds a calibrated period of time, an intermittent contact is detected and a plausibility fault TAE is set
