51 16 235 Removing and installing panel for rear storage box

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove Lid On Rear Storage Box .
Remove Cover On Panel For Rear Storage Box .

Version with telephone:

If necessary, remove emergency call button. See 61 31 176 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING EMERGENCY BUTTON .

Detach cable (2) from mount (1) and feed out from guide (3).

Disconnect plug connection (4).

Release screws (5).

Installation:

Tightening torque, see 54 31 1AZ in SLIDE/TILT ROOF AND CONVERTIBLE TOP - TIGHTENing TORQUE .

Lever out cover (1) and release screws underneath.

Installation:

Catches (1 and 2) on cover (3) must not be damaged.

Lever out plugs (2) on left/right and release screws underneath.

If necessary, disconnect plug connection for microswitch (3).

Lever out catches (4) towards top and remove panel (1) for storage box in direction of arrow.
