51 23 101 Removing and installing/replacing left active engine compartment lid lock

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

NOTE: Graphic for example purposes only (originates from F01).

Remove all screws (1) at join (2) from engine compartment lid door lock to center of vehicle; slacken remaining screws (1).

Tightening torque 51 61 6AZ .

NOTE: Connection (2) does not have to be removed.

Release screws (2) on engine compartment lid lock (1).

Tightening torque 51 23 2AZ .

Disengage, unlock and disconnect plug connections (1) at lock carrier.

Disconnect Bowden cable (2).

Feed out engine compartment lid lock (3) upwards to the front.
