51 14 008 Replacing (removing and installing) number/letter combination on front left or right side panel

IMPORTANT: The "Instructions for number/letter combination cementing" serve as the basis for these repair instructions and must be followed without fail. (See 51 14 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR ATTACHING NUMBER/LETTER DESIGNATION COMBINATION )

NOTE: Procedure and dimensions are also mandatory for right side, outer edge of number is then positioned.

Calculate distance (A) from corner of side panel upwards.

Attach adhesive tape (1) from centre point of BMW badge to distance (A).

Mark distance (B) on adhesive tape (1).

Remove liner (protective strip for adhesive surface) from number/letter combination.

Position number/letter combination up against adhesive tape (1) and at distance (B) and press down firmly.

Measurements Z4 2.0i to 3.0i:

Measurements Z4 2.5si and 3.0si:

M Roadster and M Coupe:

Calculate distance (A) from corner of side panel upwards and attach adhesive tape (1) horizontally.

Mark distance (B) on adhesive tape (1).

Remove liner (protective strip for adhesive surface) from number/letter combination.

Position number/letter combination up against adhesive tape (1) and at distance (B) and press down firmly.
