41 11 028 Left Engine Carrier Replacement (Partial Replacement Before Front Axle)

Read contents of Body, General .

Place vehicle on straightening bench.

Following new body parts are required:

Partial section, engine carrier

Mark severance cut (1) in accordance with measurement a and cut engine carrier completely.

Measurement a = approx. 35 mm from edge of diagonal strut.

Open weld joints in area (2) on inside and outside of engine carrier.

Open weld joint in area (1) and remove sheet.

Installation information:

The joint is no longer developed for reasons of accessibility.

Weld in reinforcing plate approx. 40 mm long.

Preparation of new part:

Mark severance cut in accordance with measurement a (1) and cut completely.

Measurement a = approx. 200 mm from baffle plate.

Open weld joints in area (2) on inside and outside of engine carrier.

CAUTION: Mark severance cut (3) in accordance with severance cut on vehicle. Cut outer metal sheet only.

Installation:

Adjust new part to fit with straightening attachment or universal mount.
