51 32 170 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right door window glass (security)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove SOUND INSULATION IN FRONT DOOR
- Remove OUTER WINDOW CAVITY COVER STRIP
- Remove INNER WINDOW CAVITY COVER STRIP
The insides of the windows have a polycarbonate coating which must not be damaged or scratched.
Clean with antistatic plastic cleaner* only.

Connect special tool 61 3 060 to plug connection (1) and special tool 61 2 071 .
Energize power window unit for max. 0.5 seconds in end position (risk of damage).
Energize special tool 61 2 071 with 12V, the door window opens or closes through polarity reversal.
Open door window glass to gain access to screws (1).
Slacken bolts (1)
Tightening torque: see 2AZ in 51 32 FRONT DOOR WINDOWS .
Version with window heating:
Disconnect plug connection for window heating lead (braided sleeve) on door side. Pay attention to routing for subsequent installation.
Installation:
If necessary, check ease of movement of window heating lead.
Turn door window glass and lift out towards rear/top.
Installation:
Adjust DOOR WINDOW GLASS .
Installation:
Check function.
Power windows have no anti-trapping mechanism.
There is no "Close" one-touch function or "Close" comfort function in the Security version.
