Removal & Installation

  1. Raise and support front of vehicle. Remove wheel.
  2. Remove brake disc. Brake line remains connected. Remove ABS pulse sensor. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK/TRACTION CONTROL article in BRAKES.
  3. Slacken screw connection for spring strut tube/swivel bearing. See STRUT ASSEMBLY  .
  4. Pull swivel bearing downward to gain access to all bolts (1). Remove 4 bolts (1) and remove wheel bearing. See Fig 1 .
  5. Contact faces (2) of wheel bearing and swivel bearing must be clean and free of grease. Clean tapped holes (1) in wheel bearing. See Fig 2 .
  6. Install bolts (1) with washers (2). See Fig 1 .
  7. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
