Parking Brake BOWDEN Cables: Removal
- Remove both rear wheels. Remove brake discs. See BRAKE DISC (REAR) . Disconnect parking brake Bowden cables from wheel brake. Unscrew holder for Bowden cables from body.
- Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel. Remove screws on parking brake housing cover. See Fig 1. Remove case cover.
- Release parking brake to just before end stop with emergency release tool (1) from on-board tool kit. See Fig 2.
- Raise end stop (1) with screwdriver. See Fig 3. Continue releasing parking brake with emergency release tool until assembly position is reached. Cable pulleys will be resting on outer housing walls (2).
- Unfasten gasket (1) and pull out of housing a little bit. See Fig 4. Press on tabs (2) to unlock Bowden cables. Pull Bowden cable mountings out of parking brake housing a little bit. Unhook Bowden cables from cable pulleys (3). Remove Bowden cables from below.
