61 31 104 Removing and installing/replacing shifters for SMG transmission (both)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove steering wheel retaining plate (sports steering wheel). Refer to 61 31 220 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING MULTIFUNCTION STEERING WHEEL SWITCH .

Disconnect plug connections (1).

Loosen screws (2).

Remove both shifters for SMG transmission (3) in direction of arrow from sports steering wheel (4).

Installation: 

Make sure electrical leads are correctly routed.
