Removal & Installation

Remove front wheel.
Unfasten nut. See Fig 1 .
Determine distance (A). This will make wheel alignment easier. Release clamping nut. Unscrew tie rod end while counterholding on tie rod. See Fig 2 .
To install, mount clamping ring (1). Screw in tie rod end to distance (A). Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Insure ball pin and bore of tie rod nut are free of grease. Replace self-locking nut. If necessary, grip at Torx socket. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Replace front wheel.
Adjust front axle. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES under ADJUSTMENTS.
