Removal & Installation

- Release nut and remove control arm from axle support. See Figure.
- Tie control arm back with wire. This prevents ball joint form being damaged. Remove rubber mount with special tools (31 1 051/052) and (33 3 051/052/054/310). See Fig 1.
- Ensure rubber mount and control arm bore are free of grease. Draw in rubber mount from chamfered side of control arm bore. Protrusion (A) is 5.68-5.82 mm. See Fig 2.
- Install control arm, replace self-locking nut and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Check and adjust front wheel alignment. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES under ADJUSTMENTS.
