51 16 200 Removing and installing storage compartment

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Version with rear panel: 

Lever out trims (1) on left/right at rear end and pull out of storage compartment in direction of arrow.

Installation: 

Retainers (1) and guide (2) on trim (3) must not be damaged or missing.

Release screws (1) on storage compartment (2).

If necessary, unlock plug connections.

Build date from 03/2007: 

Release screws (1).

Remove gaiter for handbrake lever.

Release screw (1) on left/right.

Raise storage compartment (2) at rear and disconnect plug connections under storage compartment (2).

Feed out storage compartment (2) in direction of arrow over handbrake lever and gear lever and remove towards rear.

Build date up to 03/2007: 

Installation: 

Do not damage guides (2) when feeding storage compartment (1) in.
