Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 92 other vehicles, including the 2002 BMW Z3, 2002 BMW M Roadster, 2002 BMW M Coupe, 2001 BMW Z3, and 2001 BMW M5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Remove trim for pedal assembly.
On 7 series up to 09/98, disconnect plug connection. See Fig 1.
On all models, depress brake pedal as far as possible, using pedal support if necessary.
Pull tappet and sleeve forward completely (1). Press together clips and pull back switch (2). See Fig 2.
Installation is reverse of removal.
Slowly bring brake pedal into initial position.
