51 11 050 Removing and installing/replacing carrier for front bumper trim

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Detach wiring harness (1) from impact absorber (2).

If necessary, disconnect plug connections from add-on parts on carrier.

Version with ACC: 

If necessary, remove ACC sensor. See REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) ACC SENSOR or REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LONG RANGE SENSOR (LRR SENSOR) (FROM BUILD DATE 03/2007) .

Version with headlight washer system: 

If necessary, disconnect line (2) on right from washer fluid reservoir coming from T-distributor (1).

IMPORTANT: Carrier must not be separated from deformation elements.
NOTE: The operation is described on the left side; proceed in the same way for the right side.

Release screw (1).

If necessary, drill out rivets (3).

Release screws (2).

Remove carrier (4) with deformation element towards front.

Installation:

If necessary, use screws and locking pins (instead of rivets) to secure deformation element.

Tightening torque 51 11 4AZ .

Replacement:
