Removal & Installation

Disconnect battery negative lead from battery.
Remove reinforcement plate.
Remove protective cap (1) of battery positive lead from starter motor. See Fig 1 . Remove nut (2). Disconnect battery positive lead (3) from starter motor. Unclip battery positive lead from holders.
Remove nuts (1). See Fig 2 . Detach leads (2) from starter motor.
Remove screws. See Fig 3 .
Pull starter motor out of transmission mount and remove. See Fig 4 .
To install, reverse removal procedure. Check starter pinion and ring gear for damage. Replace starter motor, if necessary. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
