51 13 319 Removing and installing/replacing trim strip on drip molding on rear left or right (Touring)

Partially detach trim strip on drip molding (do not remove), refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM STRIP ON DRIP MOLDING ON LEFT OR RIGHT (TOURING)  .

Trim strip (1) is removed with special tool 00 9 318 (universal wedge).

• Starting in area of D-pillar, clip out trim strip (1) towards C-pillar
• clip out centering (2) and remove trim strip (1).

Installation: 

To prevent leaks and noises:

Check all clips for visible damage.

Following components must not be damaged, replace if necessary:

1. Retainer
2. Seal
3. Plastic carrier
4. Grommet

To assist installation of trim strip, it is necessary to moisten seal (5) of side window with water.

Following components of trim strip (5) must not be damaged, replace if necessary:

1. Guide
2. Clip
3. Seal
4. Support
