12 14 611 Replacing left knock sensors (N62)

(Cylinder bank 5 to 8)

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Switch off ignition.

CAUTION: Mixing up the knock sensor plug connections will result in engine damage!
Routing of wires and plug connections must conform to the original routing. This eliminates the risk of confusion and mix-ups.

Unfasten screws.

Tightening torque, see ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove knock sensors (1).

NOTE: Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit. Check stored fault messages. Rectify faults. Now clear the fault memory.
