12 14 526 Replacing pulse generator on right inlet camshaft (N62)

(Cylinder bank 1 to 4)

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Switch off ignition.

Remove acoustic cover.

Remove right ignition coil cover. See Fig 1.

Unlock and detach plug connection (1).

Release screw.

Remove pulse generator (2).

Installation:

Replace sealing ring and coat with anti-friction rubber coating.

NOTE: Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit. Check stored fault messages. Rectify faults. Now clear the fault memory.
