12 14 512 Replacing pulse generator on left exhaust camshaft (N62)

(Cylinder bank 5 to 8)

Switch off ignition.

Remove acoustic cover.

Remove left ignition coil cover. See Figure.

Unlock and detach plug connection (1).

Release screw.

Remove pulse generator (2).

Installation:

Replace sealing ring and coat with anti-friction rubber coating.

NOTE: Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit. Check stored fault messages. Rectify faults. Now clear the fault memory.
