11 78 540 Replacing left oxygen monitor sensor (N62)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

WARNING: Scalding hazard!
Only perform this task on an engine that has cooled down.

Unclip monitor sensor cable from fixture (1).

Unlock and detach plug connection (2) for monitor sensor.

Release monitor sensor (1) with special tool 11 7 030.

Installation:

Threads of new oxygen sensors are already coated with Never Seize compound.
If an oxygen sensor is reused, only apply a thin and uniform coat of Never Seize compound to thread.
Oxygen sensor section projecting into exhaust system branch must not be cleaned or come into contact with lubricant.

Installation:

Check function of DME.

Pay attention to cable routing of monitor sensor.
