11 21 500 Replacing crankshaft (N62/N62TU)

REPLACING CRANKSHAFT PREPARATORY TASKS (N62/N62TU) OPERATION

Operation:
Remove engine (as necessary)
Remove cylinder head (cylinder bank 1 to 4)
Remove cylinder head (cylinder bank 5 to 8)
Remove hub for vibration damper
Removing lower timing case cover
Removing oil pan
Remove oil pump
Removing piston
Remove flywheel

Release main bearing inclined screw connection (1).

Installation:

Release spacer bolt (2).

Release main bearing screws.

Remove main bearing caps 1 to 5.

Lever out crankshaft.

Replace main crankshaft bearing shells.

Replace conrod bearing shells.
