41 14 503 Replacing Rear Right Outer Wheel Arch Section (Side Panel Removed)

Spot-weld bonding is used on this vehicle. Observe specific PROCEDURE 

Remove or cover those vehicle components in the repair area which are susceptible to heat or dust.

Use only approved spot-welding apparatus for repairs, see WORKSHOP EQUIPMENT !

Following new body parts are required (refer to BMW Electronic Parts Catalogue):

Removal of the outer wheel arch section 

Remove cavity acoustic baffle  (1), see 41 00... Installing a cavity acoustic baffle (not expanded) .

Open weld joints in area (2).

Remove reinforcement on C pillar.

Mark severance cut (1) in accordance with measurement and cut.

IMPORTANT: Cut outer metal sheet only.

Measurement a = 20 mm

Open weld joints in area (2).

Remove cavity acoustic baffle  (1), see 41 00... Installing a cavity acoustic baffle (not expanded) .

Mark severance cut (2) in accordance with measurement and cut.

Measurement a = 20 mm distance from radius.

IMPORTANT: Severance cut in area (3) not permitted!
Adapt measurement a to component shape in area (4).

Open weld joints in area (5).

Remove section for outer wheel arch section.

Preparation of new part: 

Mark new part in radius (1) and cut.

Installation:
