22 32 050 Replacing Cross-Member For Transmission Mounting

Special Tools Required:

00 2 030
23 0 132
23 4 050 See Fig 1.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove underbody protection.
Remove heat shields.
Remove exhaust system. See EXHAUST - REPAIR PROCEDURES - X5 (V8) .

Supporting Transmission : Support with special tools 23 4 050, 23 0 132 and 00 2 030. Secure transmission with tensioning strap (1).

Release screws. Tightening torque 22 32 4AZ, see EXHAUST SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES . Release screw (1). Tightening torque 22 32 5AZ, see EXHAUST SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES . Remove cross-member.
